Somewhat of A Calm After the 'Celebration' Storm...

We had a calm week this past week... more or less! Just the normal week with Baby-Duty, Greg's job and my Church work. Aly has been working pretty hard, as well! With the addition of a new tooth or two and the business of trying the 'walking-without-leaning-thing'!
We had a pleasant weekend... Friday evening - we joined the entire family 'Crew' at a local Buffet for supper and ate entirely toooo much! (Isn't that what Buffet's are for, though? LOL) Saturday - Greg, Aly and I just hung out, had fun together and OF COURSE made our usual Saturday stop at Walmart! Sunday - We had incredible services at Church... much like a Camp Meeting with wonderful music and gifted preaching!!! The weekend felt very short though, because Greg didn't have Monday off this week and because of his schedule, this week already feels like it should be half over and it's only Tuesday evening!!! LOL
So much for the calm, we'll certainly be busy over the next 10 days or so finalizing Alyson's 1st Birthday party, no question there! Her actual Birthday is right in the middle of our Fall Revival, so we'll be celebrating with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins the weekend before and plan to invite 'friends' next year. On Monday afternoon, we went to order her cake and can't wait to see what she thinks of it! The theme is coming together very nicely we're so excited... though a bit sad that the year has flown by so quickly!

Alyson Dawn Turns 9 Months This Wednesday... UNBELIEVABLE!

As hard as it is for us to believe... Aly will be 9 months old tomorrow!!! She's growing so very fast and it's quite fun to see all the changes in her as the time goes by! She's made many changes in the past 2 weeks or so... she's 'getting around' a room now (though not by crawling or walking, but by 'rolling', 'scooching' and 'lunging'!), she's actually been sitting up on her own for a while, she waves at everyone and I do mean everyone (whether she knows them or not! LOL), she points at things, she can now pull herself up in bed and her vocabulary includes "Mama", "Dadda" and "Bye Bye"! Who knows but what she'll just skip the crawling and go right for the running! LOL
Being as 3 next months will pass by like lightening... we've already begun to think about a small family '1st' Birthday Party for her. Themes, cakes, etc. will be such joy to plan, even if a bit sad at the time, that the year has slipped by so quickly!
Whitley is here for the week... she and Aly are having a ball 'bonding'!!! They love to play 'tag' around the couch, 'peek-a-boo' around the corners, 'basketball under the basket' (Aly rolls the ball out of her lap and onto the ground then, Whit dribbles it before making a basket and 'sending' it back to Aly for her 'turn'!), she also likes to 'bottom-bounce' on Whitley's bed, etc.
Well, Greg and I are certainly looking forward to our little 'belated' Anniversary Trip in a couple of weeks... (*sigh*) It'll be SO great to get away, if only for a couple of days and relax after an extremely busy Summer! We'll do our best to post pix for ya'll toward the end of the month.

We are happy you have stopped by to visit and even happier to have you for a "penn pal". Here's a little about us... I say Greg is a wonderful husband and I'm more than happy to be his wife. We live right in the heartland of the United States better known as Indiana. Though my choice would be to continue claiming my southern roots in Louisiana!!! Guess I'm just a Rebel that way!
WE HAVE WONDERFUL NEWS!!! We're expecting a new bundle of joy very soon! We are more than 6 months along now and just thrilled to pieces!!! We're anxiously awaiting ALYSON DAWN's (AKA "Little Pooh's") arrival!!! She'll be named after Shelly's late-Grandfather - Alson, her own Uncle Mark-(Alson) and Shelly's Great-Grandmother - Alice) and she'll share her Mommy's middle name - Dawn.
We already have 2 great kids, Wesley & Whitley, that we love dearly and are so proud of! They're each unique and awesome in many ways. The four of us are very excited to see ALYSON DAWN in the flesh!
We feel we each have the best parents you can find anywhere! They've taught us MANY life lessons - we also feel we'll never be able to repay them for those lessons! We realize that God has truly blessed our family - - - beyond words and we're forever grateful!
We are both very involved in Children's Ministries, Bible Study/S.S. and the Music Department of our local Church, Southside Nazarene. We know we wouldn't make it through life without God, one other, our family and friends!
Our family moto is to live every day to the fullest and thank God for His many blessings!
